Your conversations are personal. Here is a clear, transparent explanation of how ReadMyChat works.

The 3 Golden Rules of ReadMyChat

1. No WhatsApp Connection

We never ask for your password, connect to your WhatsApp account, or scan your contact list.

2. Private to You Only

Your saved analyses are protected by database Row-Level Security. No other user can access your dashboard.

3. Full Control & Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all saved scores at any moment from your Settings.

1. What we receive

When you use ReadMyChat, you manually export a single WhatsApp conversation file (in .txt or .zip format) on your own device and upload it to our app.

We never receive or request access to your WhatsApp account, login credentials, phone number, contacts, media files, or any other conversations.

2. What we use it for

The uploaded text file is processed strictly to calculate communication metrics (such as reply times, message volume splits, and silence gaps) and generate your Relationship Snapshot.

We do not sell your conversation data, use your chats to train public machine learning models, or share your messages with advertisers.

3. How your analysis works

The parsing and mathematical calculations run securely in your temporary browser session. Aggregated statistics and brief conversation excerpts are sent securely via encrypted HTTPS to our AI engine to generate your personalized relationship insights.

4. What is saved vs. What is not saved

What is saved (Authenticated users only)

  • Your account email address
  • Calculated numerical scores (0-100)
  • Snapshot date ranges and high-level summaries
  • Your subscription plan status

What is NEVER saved

  • Your WhatsApp password or account access
  • Your photos, videos, or audio voice notes
  • Your contact address book
  • Raw unparsed conversation files

5. Who can access your data

Only you can access your saved analysis snapshots. Our database is protected by Supabase Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, which cryptographically guarantee that only your authenticated user ID can read or update your snapshots.

6. How you can delete your account & data

You maintain total ownership of your data. You can permanently delete your profile and all historical snapshots at any time by visiting My Account → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
